Wait, aren’t we done with Medal tables?

Ah, the Medallion Architecture! Just the sound of it conjures up visions of shiny trophies and glorious victories (and of course Snoop Dog at the 2024 Olympics).

But in the world of data, we’re not talking about winning Olympic medals (mostly) — though the analogy isn’t far off. We’re talking about a streamlined, layered approach to data management that, much like an athlete’s journey, moves through stages of refinement, from raw talent to the gritty, unrefined Bronze to the polished Silver, and finally to the sparkling, decision-ready Gold.

So, let’s lace up our metaphorical running shoes, take the last shot of… vitamins, and dive into the Medallion Architecture. Why? Because, in the world of data, all medals matter.

The Medallion Architecture is a data framework that splits the data lifecycle into three distinct layers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. It’s like the evolution of a Pokémon, but for your data. Each layer serves a specific purpose in cleaning, transforming, and ultimately deriving value from your data.
